Our Gun FX Collection are Finally Here. Three of Them are FREE!
We have been hard at work this last year so we could provide you not only with what we promised, but also to show our community that we are listening to your needs and that we aren’t going anywhere.
Let’s take a look at the Collections. The last three Collections are completely free!
Muzzle Flashes
Since Muzzle Flashes are the most important elements when doing gun effects, our goal was to make sure they stood above the rest. One way we made this Collection stand out was to do additional filming of Muzzle Flashes at a 45-degree angle for those shots that are not quite straight forward or at a 90-degree angle.
We also made sure to supply you with Muzzle Flashes suitable for a bright, outdoor scene, and Muzzle Flashes for a low light, indoor scene. Whatever you plate may be, these Muzzle Flashes will be the best choices for your project. We also have a tutorial for you to learn the best practices of compositing our Muzzle Flashes.
Our Ground Hits have a base for each effect so debris will actually land on a flat surface after the dust flies in the air. We created them in this way so the comped effects appear to interact in your shot better.
The Wall Hits have two angles, front and side. The textures will work great for concrete, drywall, and wood. There isn’t an alpha channel in these clips, but you can easily remove the black background using various methods in post. Here is a tutorial on best practices for compositing our Bullet Hits.
Bad gun sound FX make for unbelievable project results, which is why we felt obligated to provide you with high quality Gun Sound Effects to go along with the rest of this series. We worked with professional audio engineers to ensure that everything would be recorded the right way. Our multi-mic setup allowed us to deliver both close and far away versions of each gun, which gives you more options when mixing.
It’s easy to only focus on the Muzzle Flash and forget all the little details that go into making the effect realistic. In order to take the Bullet Shells Collection a step further than everyone else, we looked right past CG elements and shot these shell casings for real, in camera. By actually filming in front of a green screen, we were able to capture some of the most realistic bullet shells around, available to you, completely free.
We answered the question raised in the video and created the biggest Collection of Bullet Hole textures on the market, and made them completely free for you to download. We shot multiple surfaces with a variety of guns and calibers in order to achieve different shapes and sizes for the holes. The textures are already pre-keyed so you can add them to your scene on command.
So, we have Bullet Hits stock footage, and we thought “Why not bring some sound effects over to bring even more value to our new series?” This Collection features sounds of bullets hitting concrete, drywall, dirt, wood, and other materials. Also featured in this Collection are bullet flyby sound FX for that intense action scene of your men standing in the line of fire. All-in-all, this free Collection will add that extra depth in your project and provide everything you need to create that epic shootout scene.
